My story
I started as a financial advisor in October, 2000. While helping other advisors through the advisor coach role and building my practice I received the Rookie of the Year Award. I realized I was more satisfied when I helped another advisor achieve “a win” than when I personally did. That is why I was encouraged to follow the leadership path instead of the personal practice path.
As a district manager for over 5 years, I helped advisors from their first day through 10+ years in the industry. I loved seeing my advisors succeed. When they did well, I did well. This also allowed me to see more cases in a shorter period of time. My ‘me-mangement’ skills were developed quickly.
Before having children, I decided to build my personal practice and leave the leadership path. I have met personal goals, production goals, my firm’s goals, but something has been missing. Over the past few years I have realized just how much I miss coaching others.
